We consider an impulsive excitation of fast magnetosonic waves in a dense and highly magnetised curved loop which is embedded into a potential arcade. The results of our numerical simulations reveal that the period of the excited waves agrees with both the period of the fast kink mode in the arcade and with the observations by TRACE.

Abstract
