This paper deals with the predictive control of a Multi-Input-Multi-Output converter for DC microgrids. The chosen case study is described, and subsequently, the proposed control technique is explained. Such a technique encompasses many constraints and goals since the system presents many inputs and outputs. In particular, a suitable cost function is chosen to control the voltages and maintain the currents in the branches within predetermined bounds. It is shown that the proposed procedure is scalable and can be applied with many inputs and outputs. The presented results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract

This paper deals with the predictive control of a Multi-Input-Multi-Output converter for DC microgrids. The chosen case study is described, and subsequently, the proposed control technique is explained. Such a technique encompasses many constraints and goals since the system presents many inputs and outputs. In particular, a suitable cost function is chosen to control the voltages and maintain the currents in the branches within predetermined bounds. It is shown that the proposed procedure is scalable and can be applied with many inputs and outputs. The presented results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
