On the basis of a relativistic Hamiltonian approach, a theoretical model for the' plasma interaction with a spatially localized electron cyclotron wave propagating perpendicularly to the magnetic field is developed for the case of the adiabatic weakly nonlinear regime. The expression for the absorbed power density is given analytically for any cyclotron harmonic and is compared with the linear case.
