The present report, summarizes the work carried out in 2019 on the NIO1 experiment at Consorzio RFX in Padova, Italy. Experimental campaigns will be presented together with the activities carried out on various plants. The activities were aimed at improving extracted ion current, high voltage holding capability and plasma stability, in view of the installation of the Cs oven, which is presently ongoing.
