In 2022 the NIO1 experiment was able to operate with continuous plasma and beam extraction, with well controlled and reversible Cs evaporation conditions. Several studies have been performed on source plasma and beam by means of spectroscopy. The PG heater was successfully installed and NIO1 was operated with the PG heated up to about 80°C.
