Abstract
We are witnessing more and more frequently the occurrence of extreme hydro-meteorological phenomena that pose a risk situation in certain areas of our planet. The extreme events due to climate change represent a risk both for the populations living in these geographical areas and for the cultural heritage (both tangible and intangible) and landscape that characterizes them. Natural and man-made disasters impose new, ever-changing global conservation challenges that need to be addressed with global innovative actions, both in the short term and especially in the long term. Often, in fact, the cultural and landscape heritage is put at risk not only by the single event itself, but by the lack of preparation for its occurrence. This requires, without further delay and derogations, specific climate change adaptation measures to be integrated into risk management and reduction plans.
