The chapter examines the epigraphic and literary evidence for the ownership of some of the villas in the territory of Forum Novum. In particular, stamps of MCOTTAE on two dolium rims allow the Cottanello villa to be attributed to the important Aurelii Cottae family. A connection has been established between P. Faianius Plebeius, known from two inscriptions from the beginning of the 1st century A.D. for his benefactions, and the villa excavated a short distance from the center of Forum Novum. Epigraphic evidence and toponyms provide information on the families who may have owned the villas of Paranzano and S. Maria in Legarano in Casperia as well as other buildings in the area.
