Abstract
The chapter collects data for communication routes through the Ager Foronovanus, connecting the few known bibliographic references with the information acquired during topographic survey. The municipium of Forum Novum, was connected via secondary roads to the Via Salaria and Via Flaminia, as well as to Rome by the Tiber River. The fulcrum of the local road system was the route that connected Forum Novum with the Via Flaminia, off of which minor communication routes then branched. A route documented at the end of the 19th century connected Forum Novum to Galantina, while the remains of a paved road and some sepulchral monuments allow us to reconstruct a route that led from the Tiber River to the large villas of Paranzano and Casperia.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
