The Cottanello villa is one of the few in the area to have been extensively excavated, even though the first investigations in the 1970s were not conducted using stratigraphic criteria. The research carried out by the CNR-ISPC from 2013- 2019 with the permission of the Ministry, in collaboration with the Sapienza University of Rome and with the support of the Superintendence and the Municipality of Cottanello brought significant scientific results following excavation, of which a summary is presented here. Over the years, scientific activity has been associated with educational and training activities and public and participatory archeology experiences.
