The capitolo ternario «Antichi amanti della buona e bella», traditionally attributed to Niccolo da Uzzano, is best known for the critical edition provided by Mario Martelli in the mid-1980s based on five manuscript witnesses. After a few years, Germano Pallini published an alternative version of the text, attributed to Buonaccorso Pitti and handed down from a manuscript now unfortunately unavailable. The contribution, after an introduction dedicated to these two editions, points to eight new witnesses of the capitolo, which emerged during the research work for the drafting of the «Niccolò da Uzzano» and «Buonaccorso Pitti » philological files for the PoetRi project.
