The present study propose a theoretical prediction method of the fluid force acting on a free-falling body, introducing a developed 2D+t method, where the body is cut into a series of slices. The hydrodynamic behaviors of each slice are obtained by the extended von Karman’s momentum theory. This capability of the proposed method could be seen as a promising tool for theoretically predicting hydrodynamic behaviors during aircraft ditching.

Abstract
The present study propose a theoretical prediction method of the fluid force acting on a free-falling body, introducing a developed 2D+t method, where the body is cut into a series of slices. The hydrodynamic behaviors of each slice are obtained by the extended von Karman’s momentum theory. This capability of the proposed method could be seen as a promising tool for theoretically predicting hydrodynamic behaviors during aircraft ditching.File in questo prodotto:
