As a result of climate change, extreme hydrometeorological events are becoming increasingly frequent. Rapid flood mapping products built upon geospatial imaging modalities play an important role in informing flood emergency response and management. These maps are generated from remote sensing data during or after an event to quantify the extent of flooding. The information they provide is crucial for emergency response and damage assessment. There has been a growing interest in generating flood maps from both synthetic aperture radar (SAR) [1], [2], [3] and passive-optical Earth observations [4], [5].

Abstract
As a result of climate change, extreme hydrometeorological events are becoming increasingly frequent. Rapid flood mapping products built upon geospatial imaging modalities play an important role in informing flood emergency response and management. These maps are generated from remote sensing data during or after an event to quantify the extent of flooding. The information they provide is crucial for emergency response and damage assessment. There has been a growing interest in generating flood maps from both synthetic aperture radar (SAR) [1], [2], [3] and passive-optical Earth observations [4], [5].File in questo prodotto:
