In this work, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is used as a valid method to support the study of supramolecular self-healing composites, intended for structural applications. These nanocomposites are loaded with covalently functionalized multi wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), which simultaneously impart to the material self-healing ability, based on supramolecular chemistry, and electrical conductivity. FTIR analysis is carried out to demonstrate the success of the performed covalent modification, by identifying the functional groups bonded to the MWCNTs, and the presence of hydrogen bonding interactions established between the functional groups bonded to nano-fillers and the hosting matrix
