In this study, a sustainable interdisciplinary approach was implemented by combining mineralogical and chemical determinations with biological parameters of mining substrates, alongside remote sensing technology for the classification and mapping of the mine. Sustainable restoration strategies for abandoned mines, mitigating environmental and human health risks and also, recovering of strategic materials from wastes has been studied.
