The environmental impact and human health effects of carbonaceous particulate emitted from combustion processes is much related to ultrafine particles with sizes down to a few nanometer. The analysis of the formation mechanism of ultrafine particles shows that their formation is strongly related to combustion technologies rather than to the fuel structure. In order to assess the environmental impact of combustion technologies it is necessary to develop advanced diagnostics able to measure the number concentrations of particles in the nanometric size range.

Abstract
The environmental impact and human health effects of carbonaceous particulate emitted from combustion processes is much related to ultrafine particles with sizes down to a few nanometer. The analysis of the formation mechanism of ultrafine particles shows that their formation is strongly related to combustion technologies rather than to the fuel structure. In order to assess the environmental impact of combustion technologies it is necessary to develop advanced diagnostics able to measure the number concentrations of particles in the nanometric size range.File in questo prodotto:
