Complex oxides are materials characterized by a wide variety of functional properties of great technological interest. These compounds provide the opportunity to realize novel nano-electro-mechanical devices, where the desired functionalities are obtained by the constituent materials themselves. Preliminary studies on prototypical micro-/nano-mechanical systems made from epitaxial thin films of complex oxides demonstrate the potential of these compounds as building block for future advanced transducers.
