L’Isolato Mansuelli della città etrusca di Kainua-Marzabotto (Regio IV, Insula 1)

This contribution presents the results of the most recent studies conducted on the dwellings of the so-called “Isolato Mansuelli” in Marzabotto ( Regio IV, Insula 1). The context, explored between 1952 and 1961, is now the focus of renewed interest by the Chair of Etruscology at the University of Bologna, which led to the recovery and analysis of archival documentation related to the excavations and to the systematic study of the artefacts recovered in them. The research will focus specifically on Houses 3-6 of the block, which provide the most abundant qualitative and quantitative documentation. The philological reconstruction of the excavation operations recontextualises the materials collected, allowing evaluation of the structural transformations of individual dwellings over time and the functions of certain areas of the houses. The study better defines the social framework of these significant dwellings, contributing to the discussion of the articulation of the Kainua-Marzabotto community.
