The paper relates the peripherality of Basilicata according to the SNAI classification with the involvement of this region in the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The low impact of the contagion at this stage makes it likely that some structural features of this inner area have some- how acted as a barrier for the spread of the virus.
