Population ageing has become a major global concern for rese- archers, policymakers, health professionals, and managers. Employment is crucial for economic stability, social connections, and enhanced quality of life, especially for older adults. This underscores the need to address job security for all workers. This chapter offers a comparative analysis of labor participation, employment status, and job characteristics in the Euromed countries across different age groups. It examines perceived job insecurity and external employability insecurity in the Euromed area and investigates how country-level dimensions like labor market policies, worker power, cultural values, and socio-economic conditions affect job security across age groups. The study employs descriptive statistics and econometric models, using perceived job security as the dependent variable. It utilizes macro- and micro-level secondary data from the European Working Condition Survey (EWCS) editions of 2010 and 2015. Descriptive statistics in tables, charts, and graphics analyze selected indicators over time to detect significant labor market and work condition changes for different age groups. The study also explores how country-level institutional and socio-economic factors influence market insecurity in Euromed countries. The study has both theoretical and practical implications. It advances knowledge on labor markets and working conditions in the Euromed countries through a comparative analysis of macro and micro-indicators across age groups. It helps understand variations in job and employabi- lity insecurity perceptions across nations and the influence of national factors. Practically, it aids in identifying targeted national interventions and policies that consider socio-economic conditions and institutional factors, crucial for older workers who face higher risks of long-term unemployment and job insecurity.

Abstract
Practically, it aids in identifying targeted national interventions and policies that consider socio-economic conditions and institutional factors, crucial for older workers who face higher risks of long-term unemployment and job insecurity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
