In the last decades the general picture of the advanced and latest phase of Bronze Age in Western Sicily has been increased due to a combination of field researches and the edition of some stratigraphic archaeological complexes. The main reference is the settlement at Mokarta (Salemi, Tp), were a long-term stratigraphic sequence, related to the domestic levels, has been defined into the latest quarter of the 2nd millennium BC..The destruction by fire of the settlement shows a deep gap between the first horizon, dominated by a large cultural conservatorism, and the next level, where aspects of Mainland Italy have been recognized in the pottery and metal production.
