In the last decades the general picture of the advanced and latest phase of Bronze Age in Western Sicily has been increased due to a combination of field researches and the edition of some stratigraphic archaeological complexes. The main reference is the settlement at Mokarta (Salemi, Tp), were a long-term stratigraphic sequence, related to the domestic levels, has been defined into the latest quarter of the 2nd millennium BC..The destruction by fire of the settlement shows a deep gap between the first horizon, dominated by a large cultural conservatorism, and the next level, where aspects of Mainland Italy have been recognized in the pottery and metal production. This paper aims at focusing on those features of Mainland origin well-documented into the local cultures in the area around Belice river. Moreover, a further investigation leads to identify cultural elements coming from Lower Tyrrhenian Sea and Calabria. To this latter district a bronze sword of Torre Galli type, coming from Kassar at Castronovo (Pa), as well as a clay handled cup from Motya, can be assigned. The analysis of this peninsular components into the local cultural suggests a much more investigation on the origin of the Elymos culture in Western Sicily, which represents a deep revolutionary impact into local indigenous world.
