A Fabry-Perot cavity antenna constituted by a grounded dielectric slab covered by a partially reflecting surface in the form of a thin periodic metal screen is designed to radiate cylindrical leaky waves of orders 0, ±1, and ±2 at microwave frequencies. A circular phased array of coaxial probes is employed as a feeding structure, optimized by including parasitic metal vias in order to achieve excellent input passive scattering parameters, both in terms of matching and isolation, and thus good values of the active reflection coefficients, at the operating frequency and for all the considered azimuthal orders.
