This paper analyzes the fundamental role of Law No. 109/1996 on the social use of assets confiscated from mafias and of Agenzia Nazionale per i Beni Sequestrati e Confiscati alla Criminalità Organizzata (Ansbc; National Agency for Seized and Confiscated Property from Organized Crime). The central and innovative part of this analysis is the relationship between the reuse of assets confiscated from the mafia and the Welfare State, particularly the Third Sector, which uses these properties to implement the projects desigford to the social reintegration of marginal subjects.
