This work reconstructs the transformations that affected the Marina district (Cagliari) in the early modern age, in particular the projects for the modernisation of its defensive structures. Through the archival and cartographic documentation, it has been possible to reconstruct the damage caused by the construction sites of the fortifications, the demolitions and constructions of new buildings, the reactions of the inhabitants to these changes.
