Objectives: Explore the existing relationship between cognitive control and emotion regulation during adolescence. The literature reports some differences from early to late adolescence. • Method: A battery of Inhibition tasks involving cognitive (Go-Nogo, flanker, antisaccade) and emotional aspects (Iowa gambling, Emotional Go-Nogo,) plus a self-report about emotion regulation (DERS) was administered to 81 participants, age range 14-19 (data collection in progress). • Results: Pearson correlations indicate an association between cognitive inhibition tasks and DERS, moreover between cognitive and emotional aspects of inhibition. • Conclusions: Results suggest an association between different inhibitory domains: the ability of pursuing objectives despite the emotional charge with the ability to manage interference; the ability to control impulsive responses with the ability to manage emotional activation.
