The essay offers an examination of Vico’s early works, in particular De antiquissima. Starting from the criticism of Cartesianism, Vico builds a method that allows him to isolate the principle of verum-factum. Ancient wisdom is therefore reconstructed in order to organize the principles of a science that still lacks historicity, but which already allows us to glimpse Vico’s plan.
