The article illustrates the Maps of Geohazard features of the Southern Apulia produced by the Magic project in 2007-2013. Extensive multi-beam surveys and ancillary chirp-sonar profiles allowed characterisation of the seafloor and shallow sub-surface structures. The area presents a narrow continental shelf dominated by widespread erosion and by the presence of scattered fields of large bedforms, and a steep slope dissected by narrow and short canyons and submarine slides leading to the translation of large lithified blocks particularly in the Santa Maria di Leuca area.

Abstract
The article illustrates the Maps of Geohazard features of the Southern Apulia produced by the Magic project in 2007-2013. Extensive multi-beam surveys and ancillary chirp-sonar profiles allowed characterisation of the seafloor and shallow sub-surface structures. The area presents a narrow continental shelf dominated by widespread erosion and by the presence of scattered fields of large bedforms, and a steep slope dissected by narrow and short canyons and submarine slides leading to the translation of large lithified blocks particularly in the Santa Maria di Leuca area.File in questo prodotto:
