Abstract

This study examines the scavenging of PCBs, OCPs, and unknown compounds in snow using GC-Orbitrap analysis at Mount Terminillo, Italy. Activated Carbon Fiber (ACF) sampling revealed that snow accumulates higher pollutant concentrations than air. Various industrial and combustion-related compounds were identified. The findings highlight snow’s role in removing persistent organic pollutants from the atmosphere.
