Leonardo Sciascia was a political writer in the sense that we had always dealt with politics through literature, at least as long as he believed that ideas could change the world. When he was appointed member of the Italian Parliament with the Radical Party (1979-1983), in politics he behaved as a writer: the parliamentary speech he delivered on 26th February 1980 is a perfect clear proof of this.

Abstract
