The chapter describes a methodology for human and organisational development, developed in a 17-year international CNR action-research project. The project saw the contribution of, among others, Francesco Novara, head of the Olivetti psychology centre for 30 years. The methodology, like the development practices at Olivetti, is inspired by Morin's complexity, by action research and by transdisciplinarity. It is based on a renewed personalistic view of the individual and of the organization. It brings as added value innovative practices of generating change in a systemic and evolutionary way with a transformative learning approach, leading to a new framework of competencies suited to complexity, horizontal leadership competencies. The chapter also proposes the Olivettian experience of complexity, as developed by the psychology centre. The book is about the innovative Adriano Olivetti industrial culture. Adriano Olivetti introduced a new business culture in the first half of the twentieth century, making virtuous use of the complex world of entrepreneurial, social and cultural interests. A business that produces material wealth but also shared knowledge in a work community. The book examines this multifaceted framework to derive a paradigm that has the value of an example and a stimulus in today's reality. The underlying idea was therefore to create a collective volume where the authors who worked with Olivetti elaborated their experience and the academic authors, on the basis of precise research methodologies, identified new paths of studies inspired by Olivetti’s entrepreneurship.
