De la vulnerabilidad a la creación de capacidades frente a la crisis climática. Experiencias participativas en clave de género en la Costa Sur de Jalisco

The chapter explores how research can contribute to reducing vulnerabilities in communities affected by climate-related disasters, specifically in the South Coast of Jalisco, Mexico. Grounded in capability approach and empowerment theories, the study employs participatory methodologies to foster capacity-building. The chapter is structured into five key sections: theoretical foundations, participatory research methodology and tools, and the presentation of the results. The chapter highlight vulnerabilities and community-driven solutions, emphasizing the need for equitable, gender-sensitive strategies to enhance resilience against climate risks.
