Le dépôt votif du sanctuaire de Déméter à Catane a livré un abondant mobilier originaire de Grèce de l'Est ; les vases plastiques s'y distinguent par leur variété typologique et stylistique. Leur étude permet d'aborder des questions d'iconographie et d'échanges d'images entre les mondes orientaux et occidentaux, inséparables du rôle joué par divers supports plus précieux dans la diffusion et l'inspiration de nouvelles iconographies.
