Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) has emerged as an enabling technology for deterministic communication. This paper aims to characterize and evaluate the synchronization accuracy of a low-cost TSN-based embedded measurement system built on a microcontroller, which features a hardware-based IEEE 1588-2008 PTP clock. The software foundation of the system is Zephyr RTOS, an open-source real-time operating system that supports both TSN and IEEE 802.1AS. To demonstrate the system's capabilities, we explore two different application scenarios that differ in the network configuration.

Abstract
Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) has emerged as an enabling technology for deterministic communication. This paper aims to characterize and evaluate the synchronization accuracy of a low-cost TSN-based embedded measurement system built on a microcontroller, which features a hardware-based IEEE 1588-2008 PTP clock. The software foundation of the system is Zephyr RTOS, an open-source real-time operating system that supports both TSN and IEEE 802.1AS. To demonstrate the system's capabilities, we explore two different application scenarios that differ in the network configuration.File in questo prodotto:
