The heating-vaporization-combustion behaviour of different oils, obtained from the pyrolysis of wood scraps, has been examined. Experiments have been carried out on droplets suspended in a hot air flow. High-speed cinematography has been used to follow the processes undergone by the pyrolysis oil droplets. Thermocouple measurements allowed the evaluation of the temperature of the droplets. Comparative tests were also performed on a fossil heavy oil in the same conditions.
