Various Linum species were used to establish in vitro tissue cultures for producing valuable compounds for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. Biotechnological approaches, such as elicitation with specific molecules, were applied to optimize bioactive metabolites accumulation. Moreover, a pilot small-scale production experiment was conducted in a 2-liter bioreactor to assess its scalability.
