This study presents a serious game concept in immersive Virtual Reality (iVR) for training maintenance personnel responsible for intelligent traffic light systems in smart cities. Following a Human-Centred Design (HCD) approach, the system aims to provide a highly realistic virtual environment reconstructed from 3D point cloud data. The training aims to enhance predictive maintenance competencies by integrating real-time monitoring data and simulating complex maintenance scenarios. Maintenance personnel will undergo theoretical and practical assessments to ensure effective knowledge transfer. The serious game model aims to increase maintenance efficiency and to offer potential scalability across other domains of urban infrastructure management.

Abstract
This study presents a serious game concept in immersive Virtual Reality (iVR) for training maintenance personnel responsible for intelligent traffic light systems in smart cities. Following a Human-Centred Design (HCD) approach, the system aims to provide a highly realistic virtual environment reconstructed from 3D point cloud data. The training aims to enhance predictive maintenance competencies by integrating real-time monitoring data and simulating complex maintenance scenarios. Maintenance personnel will undergo theoretical and practical assessments to ensure effective knowledge transfer. The serious game model aims to increase maintenance efficiency and to offer potential scalability across other domains of urban infrastructure management.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
