Increasing the diversity of forage resources is considered a key strategy to improve farm productivity and resilience, as well as animal welfare and farmer income. This hypothesis was tested in a large on-farm experiment planned within the Paschinres Operational Group (https://paschinres.com/).Four farmers implemented an innovation program aimed at reducing the variable costs of sheep milk production and improving cheese quality. To this aim, they partially replaced the farm annual forage crops with climate-resilient pasture mixtures and implemented regenerative tillage practices.
