Introduction. The Mediterranean as a Laboratory of Geoeconomics and Global Transformations

This volume proposes to interpret the Mediterranean as a laboratory of geoeconomics. In this space, power is exercised less through traditional military dominance than through economic tools and infrastructures: pipelines and ports, trade corridors and financial flows, digital platforms and cultural assets. Fragility and agency are two sides of the same coin: fragile economies such as those burdened by debt or political instability coexist with strategic actors that leverage resources, geography, and migration diplomacy to shape the balance of power.
