Digital archiving in archaeology: metadata, interoperability and open access

The research line “Digital Archiving” was developed within the PNRR Project CHANGES, Spoke 8 (“Sustainability and resilience of tangible Cultural Heritage”) by CNR-ISPC Open Data group to provide guidelines for the exposure of archaeological visual resources in European Infrastructure, and for the interoperability amongAeC digital archives. The starting points of the research were the images repositories of the ISPC-CNR Journal “Archeologia e Calcolatori” (IADI and AeC). Thanks to an implementation of their metadata according to international Open Access standards the records of these digital archives were put in dialogue with the digital library Europeana, with the Open Digital Archaeology Hub (ArchaeoHub), WP7 pilot of the PNRR project H2IOSC, and with the CHLOE (Cultural Heritage Linked Open data Environment) framework, hub of other bibliographic and digital image repositories (Dhelo and BiDiAr).
