The evolution of customer needs and competition are forcing automotive manufacturers and their suppliers to guarantee and improve their process in a continuous manner. The paper introduces the ESCAPE Project: the approach of FIAT Auto - in co-operation with the System and Software Evaluation Centre of the Italian National Research Councl - for facing these new challenges and improving the acquisition process of software intensive systems with the aim to better monitor and, if case, to drive their development process.
