Archaeological data for the Italian Bronze Age are widely dispersed across heterogeneous sources, characterised by uneven territorial coverage, inconsistent classification criteria and frequent spatial imprecision. The Digital Atlas of Bronze Age Sites in Italy was developed to address these issues through the critical reorganisation of archaeological information within a geodatabase covering the Italian peninsula and islands. The Atlas is based on systematic bibliographic review and specialist validation of spatial, functional, and chronological data. Currently comprising over 1,450 georeferenced sites, once completed the Atlas will provide a solid basis for large-scale comparative research, territorial analysis, and support for institutions involved in heritage protection and public communication. A controlled open-access strategy and a collaborative governance model, to be implemented after completion, are designed to ensure long-term sustainability and continuous scientific updating.

Abstract
A controlled open-access strategy and a collaborative governance model, to be implemented after completion, are designed to ensure long-term sustainability and continuous scientific updating.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
