The paper examines the development of a user strategy for integrated environmental research infrastructures within the ITINERIS project. In a global context characterized by interconnected environmental, social, and economic crises, Research Infrastructures are highlighted as key enablers of scientific innovation and evidence-based policymaking. Adopting a user-driven approach, the study combines needs analysis, stakeholder consultations, and empirical research to enhance accessibility, interoperability, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, in alignment with FAIR principles and European access standards. Findings point to the need for harmonized access policies, integrated digital platforms, and broader user engagement, including the Third Sector, schools, and local authorities. Overall, ITINERIS provides a scalable model for strengthening the societal and scientific impact of research infrastructures and fostering a more sustainable and responsive research ecosystem.

Abstract
Overall, ITINERIS provides a scalable model for strengthening the societal and scientific impact of research infrastructures and fostering a more sustainable and responsive research ecosystem.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
