The lighthouse of Torre San Giovanni in Ugento (Lecce, Italy), is a unique structure from both a historical and architectural point of view, built in 1932 on the remains of an ancient coastal tower of the second half of the 16th. This research aims to fill a serious gap in knowledge, which does not only concern the historical events of the tower, but also its technical-structural characteristics and construction phases. In addition to the recovery of all published information, the research also involved the consultation of archive data, which provided unpublished and useful information for the understanding and knowledge of elements still partially present or now lost. At the same time, the lack of accurate metric documentation of the monument led to the planning of an instrumental survey campaign, carried out with the combined use of laser scanners and digital photogrammetry: this allowed us to connect many of the elements that emerged from historical research to the structural elements and to define its morphological development. All this data was then used to develop 3D reconstruction proposals capable of offering a synthesis of the knowledge of the good and its evolutionary path, becoming themselves privileged forms of conveying knowledge.

Abstract
All this data was then used to develop 3D reconstruction proposals capable of offering a synthesis of the knowledge of the good and its evolutionary path, becoming themselves privileged forms of conveying knowledge.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
