With this monographic issue, «Rocinante» celebrates twenty years of scholarly activity, marking the culmination of a research trajectory initiated in 2005 at the instigation of some of the most distinguished scholars of philosophical Hispanism in Italy. From its very inception, the journal has represented not merely the launch of an editorial project, but the affirmation of a genuine theoretical locus: a space of critical elaboration in which Spanish and Spanish American philosophy have been examined in their historical, linguistic, and problem-oriented specificity, thereby freeing them from marginalising or merely derivative interpretations. Along this path, a research method has progressively taken shape, grounded in historiographical rigour, attentiveness to cultural context, and the enhancement of both continuities and internal ruptures within the tradition of philosophy in the Spanish language. This approach stands in continuity with the great historiographical reconstructions of the late twentieth century, which established the need to read Spanish thought as an autonomous tradition, endowed with its own problematic coherence and capable of generating original conceptual configurations. Proceeding from this fundamental theoretical and methodological assumption, *In the Footsteps of Rocinante. Themes and Figures in the History of Spanish Philosophy* offers—through the studies it contains—a dynamic panorama that, taken as a whole, conveys the vitality of a field of research in constant expansion, confirming the journal’s vocation to serve as a space for scholarly exchange, philological inquiry, and theoretical deepening. This monographic issue brings together the papers presented in the seminar series of the same name, which I organised at the ISPF-CNR Library in Naples between September 2024 and January 2025. To this original core have been added contributions by other eminent scholars, further enriching the constellation of themes and authors addressed.

Abstract
To this original core have been added contributions by other eminent scholars, further enriching the constellation of themes and authors addressed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
