The volume examines stamped inscriptions and makers’ marks discovered during the archaeological excavations conducted between 1986 and 2004 in the courtyards of the Catholic University in Milan. Through the study of ceramics, amphorae, glass vessels and other artefacts, the contributions reconstruct aspects of production, trade and circulation within ancient Mediolanum. The paper is devoted to stamped Roman lamps, whose marks provide valuable evidence for workshop organization, commercial exchange and the diffusion of northern Italian productions across the Roman world. The analysis of thirty-four stamped lamps, mainly Firmalampen, highlights the presence of important workshops as well as of unknown ones, illustrating both regional manufacture and long-distance trade connections. Combining archaeological and epigraphic methodologies, the volume offers new insights into economic networks and material culture in ancient Milan.

Abstract
Combining archaeological and epigraphic methodologies, the volume offers new insights into economic networks and material culture in ancient Milan.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
