This paper presents the archaeological and historical evidence uncovered during excavations at the church of Saints Filippo and Giacomo in Nosedo, near Milan, tracing the development of the site from the Roman period to the post-medieval age. Ceramic, glass, numismatic and architectural finds reveal continuous occupation from the late first century BC through Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, suggesting the presence of a rural settlement later connected to the Cistercian grange of Chiaravalle. The study combines material culture, written sources and stratigraphic data to reconstruct the evolution of the settlement, its economic role, funerary practices and religious significance within the Milanese territory.

Abstract
This paper presents the archaeological and historical evidence uncovered during excavations at the church of Saints Filippo and Giacomo in Nosedo, near Milan, tracing the development of the site from the Roman period to the post-medieval age. Ceramic, glass, numismatic and architectural finds reveal continuous occupation from the late first century BC through Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, suggesting the presence of a rural settlement later connected to the Cistercian grange of Chiaravalle. The study combines material culture, written sources and stratigraphic data to reconstruct the evolution of the settlement, its economic role, funerary practices and religious significance within the Milanese territory.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
