In this report, the computation of the nominal wake past two ship hulls, with and without appendages, is reported. This work is part of the work to be carried out by INSEAN for CFD simulations in the framework of the EUCLID research project RTP 10.12 "Viscous incompressible flow at high Reynolds Number". The two ships, chosen by the Consortium, are the NATO Research Vessel Alliance and the Dutch frigate De Ruyter. For both, the discrete models were generated for the bare hull and the fully appended hull by means of a commercial grid generator named ICEM CFD ver.4.0. The computation of the flow was done by a CFD code developed at INSEAN for the simulation of ship flows. Two different turbulent models were used in the simulations, i.e. an algebraic model by Baldwin and Lomax and a one-equation model by Spalart and Allmaras.
