In the frame of the PRIN project "Mapping seismic site effects at regional and national scale – SERENA," starting from Seismo-Stratigraphic homogenous zones, each characterized by a representative Seismo-Stratigraphic Units (SSUs) succession, we tested a new, quick approach effective for spatializing the seismic Amplification Factor (AF). A basic assumption of the approach is that distinct Seismo-Stratigraphic zones can be mapped in Italy, each characterized by specific lithostratigraphic configurations of surface and shallow subsoil as an effect of its geological history. Univocal attribution of each polygon\zone to a single SSU succession may be made based on geological observed information determined from available cartography.

Abstract
In the frame of the PRIN project "Mapping seismic site effects at regional and national scale – SERENA," starting from Seismo-Stratigraphic homogenous zones, each characterized by a representative Seismo-Stratigraphic Units (SSUs) succession, we tested a new, quick approach effective for spatializing the seismic Amplification Factor (AF). A basic assumption of the approach is that distinct Seismo-Stratigraphic zones can be mapped in Italy, each characterized by specific lithostratigraphic configurations of surface and shallow subsoil as an effect of its geological history. Univocal attribution of each polygon\zone to a single SSU succession may be made based on geological observed information determined from available cartography.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
