Measuring wildlife forest biodiversity is crucial for adaptive management. This study presents preliminary winter results (December–February) from the Selva del Lamone Regional Nature Reserve (central Italy), combining camera trapping and passive acoustic monitoring at 15 sites. Camera traps recorded terrestrial mammal occurrence, detecting all expected species, including wild-feral cat (Felis silvestris) and wolf (Canis lupus). Acoustic monitoring assessed bird species richness, identifying up to 81 species, including 15 potentially new records for the area. These integrated measurement approaches provide effective and low-bias biodiversity assessments to inform conservation planning.

Abstract
Measuring wildlife forest biodiversity is crucial for adaptive management. This study presents preliminary winter results (December–February) from the Selva del Lamone Regional Nature Reserve (central Italy), combining camera trapping and passive acoustic monitoring at 15 sites. Camera traps recorded terrestrial mammal occurrence, detecting all expected species, including wild-feral cat (Felis silvestris) and wolf (Canis lupus). Acoustic monitoring assessed bird species richness, identifying up to 81 species, including 15 potentially new records for the area. These integrated measurement approaches provide effective and low-bias biodiversity assessments to inform conservation planning.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
