The future RFX-mod2 machine, the upgrade of RFX-mod, will provide a better stabilization of edge instabilities for the experimentation of Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) and other magnetic confinement configurations for nuclear fusion. The development of RFPs will require and benefit from core measurements like ion temperature, ion speed, impurity content and magnetic field in the plasma core. These measurements are made possible by the Charge Exchange Recombination Spectroscopy (CXRS) and Motional Stark Effect (MSE) diagnostics, which require the injection of a neutral H beam. This contribution shows the progress in the upgrade of the RFX-mod diagnostic Neutral Beam Injector (DNBI), to solve several technical faults, obsolescence issues, high voltage safety issues and simplify the overall design of its electrical systems. The contribution will also show the improvements to the pumping system and to the duct connecting the DNBI to the RFX-mod2 toroidal chamber, to reduce beam transmission losses. The design of the CXRS and MSE diagnostics will also be presented.
