The measurement of the calibration factor of neutron sensitive devices requires a careful consideration of such parameters as the room-scattered neutron component and the effective centre of the instrument. The present paper approaches the problem of the calibration of a new type of neutron dose equivalent meter, the Dineutron, and shows that, in spite of its rather complex physical structure, this instrument behaves similarly to Cramal 21, that is a conventional design sperical neutron dose equivalent meter. Such a behaviour was observed in the Laboratorio di Metrologia delle Radiazioni Ionizzanti (LMRI) of ENEA.

Abstract
The measurement of the calibration factor of neutron sensitive devices requires a careful consideration of such parameters as the room-scattered neutron component and the effective centre of the instrument. The present paper approaches the problem of the calibration of a new type of neutron dose equivalent meter, the Dineutron, and shows that, in spite of its rather complex physical structure, this instrument behaves similarly to Cramal 21, that is a conventional design sperical neutron dose equivalent meter. Such a behaviour was observed in the Laboratorio di Metrologia delle Radiazioni Ionizzanti (LMRI) of ENEA.File in questo prodotto:
